This was the only bout conducted, as the balance of the show was canceled due to the severe injuries sustained by [[Frank Farmer]].

"Toe to toe with his opponent, the smell of resin and sweat in his nostrils, the hoots and cheers of fans in his ears, and with gloves swinging, Frank Farmer died in the midst of the life he knew for a score of years." (UP)

A blow to Farmer's heart was believed to be the actual cause of death. Coroner U.S. Lodge soon after exonerated Boyd of all responsibility. Mellinger's Funeral Home provided the services.

Just as efforts to [[USA: Washington State Laws|legalize prize-fighting]] in Washington state were once again underway--after the [[Show:137632|Feb. 5, 1929]] Seattle ring-death of [[Eddie Cartwright]]--Farmer's death made them moot. (Professional boxing in Washington eventually became legal June 8, 1933.)
