In what was an upset from the '''Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino Special Events Center in Indio, California,'''
Mexican veteran '''Robinson Castellanos''' of Guanajuato, Mexico '''scored a fifth round stoppage over''' previously
undefeated super featherweight '''Ronnie Rios''' of Santa Ana, California on the '''Golden Boy Live on Fox Sports 1'''
main event. The two fighters did not take a step back as they came out banging in the opening round.
Trading away '''in round two''' Rios appeared to be stunned as moments later '''a short right hand dropped Rios''' as
he got up staggered fighting on and making it through the round. '''Castellanos appeared to be cut above the'''
'''left eye in round three''' but that did not stop him from coming forward landing the right hand on Rios
numerous times. Castellanos continued to apply pressure in round four outworking Rios as once again he was
saved by the bell. However the following round Castellanos came out walking up to Rios connecting with a
solid right hand followed by a barrage of punches as '''referee Ray Corona stops the fight at 11 seconds of'''
'''round five.''' Castellanos pulls the upset as he improves his record to 20-10, 13 KOs handing Rios his first
defeat as he goes to 23-1, 10 KOs.
In the welterweight co-feature, San Diego’s '''Antonio “Relentless” Orozco''' faced his biggest test as he took
on former world champion '''Steve “Two Pound” Forbes in a scheduled ten''' round bout. Orozco and Forbes began
feeling each other with the jab in round one, Forbes landed a looping right late in the round. In round
two Orozco began to work inside on Forbes tagging the body as Forbes countered. A right hand by Orozco
appeared to drop Forbes in round three but '''referee Pat Russell''' ruled it a slip, later in the round Orozco
continued to back Forbes to the ropes. Working effectively on the inside in the fourth round Orozco
continued to pressure Forbes as he appeared to be wearing down. Halfway through the fight in round five
Orozco and Forbes mixed it up on the inside trading away. In round six Orozco kept his distance working
off the jab as Forbes looked for a way inside. Orozco went back to working inside in round seven attacking
the body as Forbes continued to bring it. The eighth and final round saw Orozco continue his dominance
working Forbes finishing strong against the veteran. '''All three judges scored the bout 80-72 for Orozco.'''
With the win, Orozco remains unbeaten as a prospect at 21-0, 15 KOs. The veteran Forbes falls to 35-14, 11
KOs.
Mexicali featherweight '''Diego De la Hoya won a lopsided unanimous decision over Luis Ruiz''' in the opening
bout of the Golden Boy Live telecast. De la Hoya began landing bombs early on tagging Ruiz with a huge
overhand right in the opening round. Continuing were he left off De la Hoya tagged Ruiz in round two with
power punches snapping his head back. A solid right hand by De la Hoya snapped Ruiz head back once again
in round three as the fight appeared to be sliding away. In round four De la Hoya urged Ruiz to fight
continuing to tag Ruiz with solid punches. De la Hoya continued to punish Ruiz through five rounds landing
a series of power punches in the round. The sixth and final round saw De la Hoya finish strong continuing
to connect with power punches as there was no quitting in Ruiz. '''All three judges scored the bout 60-54''' in
favor of De la Hoya. Diego De la Hoya now stands at 7-0, 5 KOs as Ruiz drops to 5-3-1, 2 KOs in giving a
gutsy performance.
round bout. Macias and Crespo wasted no time trading on the inside '''in the opening round''' moments later an
'''accidental clash of heads caused a cut above Macias left eye'''. Macias came out aggressive '''in round two'''
left hook by Delgado to the head '''knocked out''' Valenzuela as '''referee Jerry Cantu immediately stopped the fight'''
