			On October 27, 2012, Tony “Mo Better” Jeter of Stevensville, MD defeated Great Falls, VA’s Jimmy Lange by split
			decision in a fierce 10-round contest at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA that was one
			of the most controversial bouts seen in the Washington area in many years. Jeter won the contest despite having
			four points taken from him and suffering a knockdown.
			On Saturday night, the two men met again at the Patriot Center in a rematch that was much less controversial but
			just as fierce. The outcome, however, was the same. Jeter defeated Lange once again, this time by 10-round
			majority decision to capture the NABA USA Middleweight title.
			This was a brutal fight, in many ways like the first bout. There was a lot of close in-fighting by both men.
			However, there were some subtle differences. Jeter used a great series of uppercuts and body shots to establish
			his gameplan. But Lange moved better laterally in the rematch than in the first contest. Jeter was very
			effective with his inside attack and kept Lange off balance. In the middle rounds, Lange came back strong and
			established his jab well. However, Jeter closed the show with nice combinations to the head and body to win the
			bout. “I never thought I hurt Jimmy,” Jeter said. “We were going at it like we were in a phone booth. He hit me
			with some good shots and I hit him with some shots. He is, by far, the toughest fighter, including sparring
			partners, I have ever fought. We both may be bleeding blood before the night is over.”
			Judge Joe Cooper saw the draw at 95-95. That was overruled by Brian Costello saw the bout at 97-93 and Mark
			D’Atillio who saw the bout 99-91 for Jeter, who is now 18-4-1, 12 KO’s. Lange falls to 38-6-2, 25 KO’s.
			In the co-feature, undefeated Tori “Sho Nuff” Nelson of Ashburn, VA successfully defended her WIBA Welterweight
			title with a 10-round unanimous decision over a very game Victoria ” La Reina De Guerra” Cisneros of Albuquerque,
			NM. Nelson landed great combinations to the head and body of Cisneros, who continued to charge in close. At times,
			Cisneros went to a neutral corner and challenged Nelson to come from center ring to fight her but Nelson would
			have none of that. All three judges scored a shutout (100-90) for Nelson who remains undefeated at 13-0-3, one
			KO and defends her title for the fifth time, four of those defenses coming this year. Cisneros falls to 11-16-2,
			four KO’s.
			In other bouts on the card, Super middleweight Thomas Brown of York, SC won a relatively easy six-round unanimous
			decision over Jonathan “Reid Dawg” Reid of Nashville, TN. Brown fought a very disciplined contest following his
			corner’s instructions to the letter. Brown landed crisp head and body shots and landed solid uppercuts throughout
			the contest. One judge scored three 10-8 rounds for Brown despite no knockdowns. That score was 60-51. Two other
			judges scored the bout 60-54 for Brown who raises his record to 16-4-2, nine KO’s. Reid drops to 35-16, nine KO’s.
			Ashburn, VA junior welterweight Seth “Killer B” Billups had an easy night as he stopped a very stoic and somewhat
			immobile Sean Lockhart of Columbia, SC. Billups stayed on the outside and landed easy punches to Lockhart’s head
			and body. Lockhart stayed in center ring and did virtually nothing in defense. Billups knocked down Lockhart
			three times, once in each round, before the bout was stopped at 2:04 of the third. Billups remains undefeated at
			5-0, four KO’s. Lockhart is 5-25-2, two KO’s.
			Frederick, MD super middleweight Devar “The Warrior” Ferhadi used a multitude of crushing body shots to defeat
			Jess “Thunder” Noriega of Lynchburg, VA. Noriega started very strong and pressured Ferhadi with hard punches to
			the head in the first round. However, Ferhadi went to his bread and butter, the body shot and that turned things
			completely in his favor.
			Noriega fought back valiantly but Ferhadi’s body attack set up nice combinations to the head. At the end of the
			third round, the Noriega corner retired. Ferhadi is now 4-0, three KO’s. Noriega falls to 3-12, three KO’s.
			Former Oklahoma University linebacker Mike “Silverback” Balogun of Upper Marlboro, MD won his second pro bout as
			a heavyweight boxer as he stopped Percy Womack of Danville, VA at 1:20 of the first round. Balogun landed two
			heavy left hands to drop Womack twice. Womack could not beat referee Bill Clancy’s count. Balogun is now 2-0, two
			KO’s while Womack loses his pro debut.
			In the curtain-raising contest, super middleweight “Sugar” Ray Terry of Lynchburg, VA stopped Kevin Bartlett of
			Eden, NC at 2:10 of the first round. Terry simply overwhelmed Bartlett and two separate flurries sent Bartlett
			to his knees twice before the bout was stopped. Terry is now 2-0, two KO’s. Bartlett is 0-5.
			Jimmy Lange Boxing promoted the card. The matchmaker was JD Brown and the ring announcer was Henry
			“Discombobulating” Jones.
