Results from Orlando [http://www.8countnews.com/index.php/en/boxing-news/1302-results-from-orlando]
The city of Orlando is going through a boxing resurgence and on Saturday night in front of '''a packed'''
'''house at the Orlando Live Events Center, One Punch Boxing Promotions''' put on an exciting show in front
of a very boisterous crowd.
In the main event of the evening, undefeated rising star '''Amos Cowart made short work of Marlon Lewis'''
from Memphis, '''scoring a one punch knockout''' via a big right uppercut '''in the middle of the opening round.'''
With the victory Cowart moves to 10-0-1 with 8 wins, including his last three by KO. The hard hitting
'''southpaw''' lightweight is certainly a fighter to keep an eye on in the near future.
In the co main event of the evening, fan favorite '''Moises Carasquillo Jr. from Orlando stopped''' the very
durable A'''rnold Hill''' of St. Pete at '''the 1:08 mark in the 5th round.''' Carasquillo, who notably fought on
the Miguel Cotto-Delvin Rodriquez undercard, moved to 7-0 with 5 KO's with the victory.
Two Orlando area fighters who train under the tutelage of former world title challenger “The Iceman”
John Scully were successful in their bouts. Hard hitting '''Craig Duncan ('''5-0 4KO's) went the distance for
the first time in his young career by '''scoring a 4 round shutout 40-34 over William Harris'''. Duncan
'''dropped Harris midway though the first round and again late in the fight''', however Harris seemed
unwilling to exchange and was in survival mode for most of the fight which seemed to frustrate Duncan.
Scully's other pupil, middleweight '''Phillip Penson scored a workman-like 6 round shutout over''' tough
veteran '''Ricardo Planter''' of Jamaica in the walkout bout of the night.
The opening bout of the night proved to be the most intriguing bout of the card. '''Pro debutant Joshua'''
'''Medina''' came out quickly and '''dropped his opponent Julian Valero hard to the canvas in the opening round.'''
'''However Valero bounced back with heart and determination and a strong jab to steal the following three'''
rounds in a highly entertaining contest. Valero collected his first career win that moves him to 1-2.
Both fighters showed interest in a rematch that is sure to be another barn burner.
Undefeated '''Joshua Pagan''' (3-0) '''scored a knockdown in the opening round''' but had to settle for a shutout
over a game but outmatched '''Cleveland McLean in a 4 round featherweight contest.'''
'''Alex Roman and LeJea Bolden''' put on an exciting show for 4 rounds in their 120 lb clash. '''Roman won a'''
'''shutout 40-36''' however the bout was much closer than the scorecards indicated.
Notable in attendance was former Heavyweight Champ and Florida Boxing Hall of Famer Pinklon Thomas,
as well as Cruiserweight contender Francisco “War Wizard” Palacios and undefeated prospect and Al
Haymon signee Prichard Colon.
