"Tom Bogs of Denmark, the reigning European middleweight champion, used a brilliant left jab and hook to outpoint Mike Quarry of San Luis Obispo, Calif., in a 10 round bout Thursday night. Bogs won a unanimous decision over Quarry. Quarry tried to win it early with some hard uppercuts but Bogs held his own for the first three rounds and then put some pressure on. In the 5th round Bogs' eye started to bleed after he had been butted by the American but in the next round he opened a cut on Quarry's left eyebrow with a hard right. The crucial moment for Bogs came in the 7th when his left eye again started bleeding. But the referee let him go on, after warning Quarry for using his head in the infighting." -United Press International
