McLaglen immediately jumped up in great agony, frothing at the mouth, and unable to breathe. He was taken to his dressing room where a physician gave him a glass of milk, which revived him some. He couldn't leave the rink until midnight, when he returned to his home at 1133 South E Street, where he was confined to bed for awhile. Battling Nelson reportedly was ringside.
