The Associated Press reported:
- Ortiz hit Ramos with a powerful right hand at the start of the fourth round. Ramos went down on all fours while the referee counted to eight. After the Mexican challenger regained his feet, Ortiz hit him practically at will with both hands. Seconds later, Clayton stepped in and stopped the fight. Ortiz was obviously looking for a quick knockout from the start. He dominated every round. The 25-year-old challenger from Cuba, who now lives in Mexico, landed his best punch in the third, but did not hurt Ortiz.
