Chicago Catholic Youth Organization Sectional Champions

The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) boxing tournament was one of three major amateur boxing tournaments in Chicago during the 1970's & 1980's along with the Chicago Park District (CPD) and Golden Gloves.

The city finals for the CYO championships were usually held at the Northwest Armory on Chicago's North side for all weight classes in the Novice and Open divisions.

By 1986 the tournament became a one evening event, with boxers matched-up in Championship bouts in several weight divisions.

The annual tournament was divided into two sections, the North side and South side. The winners of each section faced off at the Northwest Armory until about 1980 and in later years usually at different church gymnasiums such as the Saint Andrews gym facility. Eventually the archdiocese was forced to drop the program, most likely due to budget cuts.

The amateur boxers listed below, won either the North-side or South-side sectional title in the Chicago Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) City-wide boxing tournament and were defeated in the finals or unavailable to participate in the city finals.

Boxers listed may also have won CYO City boxing championships in other years that they participated.
