The Commonwealth Boxing Council is a sanctioning body that crowns Commonwealth champions in all recognized weight classes. Its member countries are presently Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, England, Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Scotland, South Africa, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, Wales, and Zambia.
While the Commonwealth Boxing Council was formed in 1954, its title lineages go back to the 19th century as it recognizes title fights for the British Empire crown that were held before its formation.
