Eddie Green was a 1979 and 1980 All U.S. Armed Forces amateur welterweight champion. In 1979, he was a World Cup amateur welterweight champion. And in 1980 he was a gold medalist in the Conseil International du Sport Militaire -- International Military Sports Council (CISM) Games, held in Baghdad, Iraq. This event is better known as the World Military Boxing Games. Green had previously won the gold in it in 1978. He lost to Donald Curry in the finals of the 1980 Olympic Trails.
