"Billy Petrolle found Ray Miller of Chicago as tough as they come at the Coney Island Stadium last night and the best the Dilworth lightweight could do was to score a draw after 10 furious rounds in which the lead seesawed back and forth, first Miller scoring with a sweeping left and then Petrolle winning back lost ground with a rushing attack to Miller's midsection. After a bad first round, Petrolle dropped Miller in the 2nd with a right to the jaw, but the Chicagoan refused to take a count coming up immediately to retaliate with two strong lefts.
