Lew Tendler beat KO Mars by NWS in round 10 of 10

Tendler knocked Mars down in the 4th round, with a right to the chin and a left to the stomach. Mars was on the canvas in pain, when the bell sounded to end the round. The Cincinnati Enquirer gave Tendler every round, but felt Mars fought gamely in the bout. Tendler's face didn't have a mark at the end, while Mars's face was swollen, and his right eye was cut.
The bout was fought at a contracted weight of 140 pounds. Mars who could make 133 easily, probably gave away about six pounds to Tendler.
