Foster was knocked down for a nine-count in the 5th round. Foster fought back valiantly in the 6th and 7th rounds, earning an edge in the latter round. In the 8th, a left hook caught Foster, and sent him down for a nine count. Foster rose unsteady, and was met by a series of blow that sent him sprawling into the ropes. Foster took another nine-count, but appeared defenseless, as Garcia smacked him with a right uppercut that sent him forward to the canvas. The referee immeadiately intervened.
Garcia was cut over his eye in the 3rd round.
