Referee: Phil Edwards

Dereck Chisora versus Malik Scott WBO International Heavyweight Title Bout

  • 'Dell Boy' Chisora stopped the 35-0-1 Malik Scott with an overhand right for the count of nine in round 6. According to established rules, this is a technical knockout or referee stoppage.

Malik Scott was warned by the referee throughout the contest for repeated fouling and clinching, but was not penalized. Scott boxed well with his jab, while Chisora scored well with body punches. With 15 seconds left in the sixth round, Scott went down along the ropes from a right hand to the back of the ear, and took a knee, smiling. Scott got up at the count of nine, but then referee Edwards shouted "Out" anyway, ending the contest.

  • Chisora got credited with a knockout. Scott did not protest the seemingly premature stoppage but his corner did.
