Shane Cameron 218 lbs lost to Brian Minto 212 lbs by RTD at 3:00 in round 7 of 12

  • Minto wins the vacant WBO Oriental Heavyweight title in New Zealand
  • Cameron looked good for three rounds, and had Minto in trouble in the third. Minto dominated with his jab from the fourth round on. Minto cut Parker over over the left eye with a punch in the fourth. Minto deducted a point in round four for elbowing, and deducted a point in round five for head butting. It's a good Christmas present, "noted Minto, who said he would next fight 7-0 heavyweight prospect Joseph Parker. Dirty fight, with Cameron, out of the ring for a year, unable to answer the bell for round seven. Cameron stated after the bout "He had a better game plan than me. At the end of the day, I lost and he (Minto) won." Cameron's trainer stated he stopped the bout as Cameron could only see out of one eye, and did not want him to incur further damage.
