Martinez knocked Freeman down in the 1st round with a right hand behind the ear. Freeman rose at nine, and after blows were exchanged dropped Martinez with a right hand to the jaw. Martinez rose quickly, and was rocked by Freeman over the remainder of the round. Freeman retained control of the fight, as he dropped Martinez twice in the 4th round. Martinez retreated in the 5th round, Freeman was able to catch up to him in the 6th round, and staggered him several times. Freeman quickly hurt Martinez in the 7th round, and after an attempt at holding by Martinez, finished him with a right hand to the chin.
