"Middleweight contender Denny Moyer avenged his family honor Saturday night with a turntable unanimous decision over Teddy Wright in their second fight at MSG. Moyer of Portland, Ore., not only came back to beat Wright of Detroit, who had won a split decision over Denny in the Garden on June 9, but Denny also avenged the defeat of brother Phil Moyer, who lost a unanimous decision to Wright in the same Garden ring on May 26. Wright had his knees buckled near the end of the 3rd round with a right to the chin that knocked him into the ropes. In the 7th, Teddy was half-staggered twice with hooks, followed by hard rights to the head. In the 10th, it seemed that Teddy must go down when Moyer's repeater left jabs sent him backwards and a straight right buckled his knees. Denny then battered him from rope to rope practically without return." -United Press International
