Fernandez raised a welt over Kim's left eye in the 3rd round, with a series of jabs to the head. The swelling became progressively worse, until Kim's manager stopped the bout as the bell rang for the 6th round. Kim hurt Fernandez twice with left hooks in the 2nd and 5th rounds, but otherwise Fernandez was in complete control.
