"In the semi-final Canadian heavyweight champion George Chuvalo of Toronto had little difficulty in disposing of Tony Ventura of Buffalo, N.Y. Chuvalo, 221, had his opponent down twice before referee Nick Nicola of Montreal decided Ventura had enough. Ventura, 211, only hit the Canadian champion one convincing blow. That was in the first round when he landed a good right cross, a blow that only appeared to move Chuvalo into high gear. Chuvalo stopped the Buffalo fighter at 1:15 of the 4th round." -Canadian Press
