Bobby Leitham 115 lbs drew with Joe Villeneuve 118 lbs by PTS in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1929-03-08
- Location: Quebec City, Quebec, Canada
- Canadian Bantamweight Title (1st defense of Villeneuve)
- Villeneuve had previously been named Canadian champion in October 1928 without winning the title in the ring. The champion at the time was Jackie Johnston, but he had put on so much weight since winning the title that the board of the Canadian Boxing Federation did not think he could compete at Bantamweight any longer. Instead of declaring the title vacant, Villeneuve, the #1 contender at the time, was simply installed as the new champion.
- According to the May 1929 issue of The Ring Magazine: "Joe was slightly ahead and the Montrealer tore in, fists flying in a desperate effort to knock Villeneuve out".
