Compiled an amateur record of 31-3 with 27 KO's. Competed in the U.S. Olympic trials in 1960.
At one point in his career, he was ranked as the number 5 Welterweight in the world. Terronez was inducted into the Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.
After his professional career, he worked for then California Governor Ronald Reagan's office as a community relations consultant.
