According to the Dec. 31, 1915 Everett Tribune (Everett, WA, USA), Blanken, 77, boxing trainer, had died Dec. 30. He was famous for his Six Mile House training facility at San Francisco, California, which he had opened in 1876. He had come to California from Germany. Some of his more famous clients included Jack Johnson, Peter Jackson, John L. Sullivan, James J. Corbett, Joe Gans, and Gus Ruhlin.
