Francesco Buonaugurio ("Kid Francis") was the elder brother of fellow boxer Guy Bonaugure. He learned to box while living in Argentina.

He was arrested when the German Army entered France at the start of World War II, then sent to Auschwitz where he was forced to box for the entertainment of Nazi officers. He was killed in 1943.

  • Featured on the cover of the June 1931 The Ring magazine
  • There is some question whether he was in fact Jewish
  • He was interested in literature, recommending Ovid and Kipling to fellow boxers
