USA Today is a large circulation, Monday through Friday, newspaper that is sold throughout the United States. In the spring of 2000, the newspaper hired Dan Rafael to be its boxing writer. Since his hiring, Rafael has greatly expanded coverage of boxing in the publication, and has instituted his own Top 10 ratings, which he features the first Friday of every month. He has also handed out his own awards since 2000, which are shown below:
