Dick Richardson, 201 1/4, Britain retained his European Heavyweight Title by knocking out Karl Mildenberger, 190 1/4, Germany, at 2:35 of the first round before a sell-out crowd of 16,000 in the Dortmund Westfalen Hall. A right cross as Milbenburger came off the ropes caught him flush on the jaw and he fell back as if pole-axed to be counted out.
