"After the first round it was a foregone conclusion that Barry would win, as he was both too clever and big for the plucky little Paterson boy...Gorman was severely punished, but stood the ill-treatment manfully to the end. In rounds nine and ten, he was knocked down many times, but always managed to respond in a plucky manner.
