The bar for poor posters has already been set, and set very high.

Re: Well done groves

Like most people, I was in the heart-says-groves-head-says-degale camp. Like most, i'm chuffed to bits. The way JD celebrated when the MC said "and still undefeated" shows what a complete plum he is. Also, what does this mean for the reputation of Booth? He might become a real go-to guy fo...

Re: David Haye Ringside

Haye was right not to share the camera with Wlad. Wlad's a smart guy, great talker and would have easily made Haye look even more of a fool than Haye made himself look by his childish antics. I don't recall Haye making me cringe like this before; Wlad really established himself as the Alpha Male as ...

Re: Why I hate Sky...

Agree with the Majority. Sky Sports is slick, professional and seem to pick staff who love their respective sports. (I particularly enjoy their cricket coverage). Sky Sports is not a boxing channel, but to my knowledge IS showing more fights than terrestrial. BBC and ITV DUMPED Boxing hard in recent...

Re: who will Audley fight next?

IF Haye cleans up and vacates, that leaves a fragmented and weak division. If Audley has longevity (and given the number of 'wars' he's been in, I suspect he has) then him getting a title chance is not outside of the realms of possibility. Come fight night, his opponent could trip and hurt himself ...

Re: Who was the best early-00s British LMW?

Great thread. I remember Gary Lockett was in the mix too. I went for Williams, but it was time time of personality and partisanship too so there were many reason to have a favourite. They were great domestic level fighters; Great fights were too be had and the fans knew it. I remember it as a very f...

Re: Danny Williams "I'm a shot fighter"

Classic line “This will be it, this will be the last time the ring announcer introduces Danny Williams — unless another guy called Danny Williams comes along, which is always possible.” It's just like how I imagine Will Ferrell's 'Ricky Bobby' from Taladega Nights would announce his retirement. :D

Very sad news.
He wasn't the kind of character you could dislike.

I wonder if he knew how many kinds words would be said and how much support he would have.
I suspect he didn't...and that's the choker.

Re: Big Fight Round 2

I thought is was very very good show. Great idea to mix the new with the old as boxing fans tend to like hearing about the history. The show didn't suck up to any fighter, any promoter. It was a knowledgeable and honest discussion. It's not anything like Buncey's boxing thing on Setanta or the old S...

Youtube clip - double KD

This is a clip of Cornelius Bundrage (who took part in Contender 2).
It's a 2005 fight I stumbled upon on youtube (pre contender).
Bizzare fight (1:17 clip). Worth a click if you haven't already seen it.

Re: Whats wrong with fighting other British fighters.

A few years back there were tons of middle - light-middle fights to be made. I probably can't even remember most of them: Takaloo Lockett Alexander Farnell (I put this in for fun) Williams (secret) Elcock They never really squared off much though. From their point of view, there's no real point. So ...

but the level of dislike for him as a person that I've heard, from people who don't even have a good reason to base it on, is very distasteful to me and typically British. I seem to remember he was pretty much "the next unified champion" before he got smashed up.

I'd say Wlad Klitchko against Sanders too.
Probably not many people's idea of a "Zero", but he never recovered the "Hero" tag, that's for sure.
