Yes kids are fighting at higher weights and kids that turned 16 at the end of 2013 are having to fight in the youth division as we'll (17-18yo) just because they we'll turn 17 within this year

Silver gloves is sanctioned by USA boxing but they are are third party and get to "make their own rules" on some things. So the males get to compete at state, regional and national level and females only at a national invitational tournament at a different time and location from the males....
