Fenech gets a name...

Post by bennie »

Khaled Nagi, a 20-year-old from the Sydney suburb of Punchbowl, has appeared in court charged with malicious wounding and assault on former world boxing champion Jeff Fenech.
The accused was granted conditional bail that restricts him from approaching Jeff or going to the restaurant at Brighton Le Sands in South Sydney outside where the attack took place.
But what's to stop Fenech approaching him! They shouldn't have given this guy bail in my opinion. He's a dead man.

Part of me would pay good money to see a bare knuckle fight between Nagi and Fenech.

However I would hate to see Fenech do something silly and end up in The Big House.

A SYDNEY man accused of attacking former world champion boxer Jeff Fenech has pleaded not guilty to the offence and been granted bail by a Sydney court.

Four men attacked Fenech outside a restaurant he co-owns in Sydney's south on Sunday night, leaving the boxer nursing a deep gash to his face which required surgery.

Khaled Nagi, 20, who was picked up by police at his Punchbowl home yesterday, today made a brief appearance at Burwood Local Court this morning.

He is charged with four offences, including malicious wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

Mr Nagi entered a plea of not guilty to all charges.

Magistrate Paul Cloran granted Mr Nagi bail on condition he report to the Bankstown police station twice a week, notify police of any change of address and stay at least 500m from Fenech and his Enigma restaurant in Brighton-Le-Sands.

Magistrate Cloran said Mr Nagi would be forced to hand over $500 if he breached those conditions.

Police prosecutor Sharon Walker did not oppose bail.

Mr Nagi was ordered to appear on March 3 at Burwood Local Court.

Fenech was quoted in today's Evening Standard: "The police should put us in a cell and let us stand there together.
"If the guy's not urinating in 30 seconds, I'd be a pretty bad judge."
