I could only give Hatton 2 rounds at most and only the 5th was a clear round for him only cause Floyd took a breather.

Nah, after seeing how Floyd proved me right that Hatton can be beat by counter punchers with timing and accuracy, I think Witter could KO Hatton too and he hits harder than Floyd.

Hatton's defence Is non existant and he gets away with too much holding and fouling.

I thought that for the first four rounds, Mayweather looked quite uncomfortable with the pace, and he wasn't really getting many shots off, but like in so many other fights, he found his timing, figured out how to counter Hatton, and controlled his own effort perfectly.

I thought the refereeing was abysmal to be honest. Cortez might as well have snogged Mayweather after the fight. Broke the action up far too quickly, whist Hatton was still punching, and despite saying before the fight he wouldn't spoil the fight by deducting points, did precisely that by not penalising hatton after Mayweather turned his back.

Mayweather constantly used the elbow during the fight, yet despite being warned over and over again, never received a point penalty. He must have been warned 10 times.

I doubt the result would have been different, but certainly Cortez was kissing Mayweather's ass big time, and was virtually fellating him post fight, with his arm draped round him. The turtle faced old bastard.

I also cannot understand the scoring, sure, Hatton was behind by the time the end came, but they gave him what, one round? I thought Hatton took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th clearly, Mayweather landed little of note in those rounds, and Hatton was controlling the tempo.

Mayweather, having said all of this showed just what a class fighter he was. Hatton is a very good fighter, but Mayweather is a great one, with a degree of control in the ring I've seldom seen.

I'd really like to see Mayweather fight Cotto, who is the last big challenger to his supremacy for me, I don't know that Mayweather is that excited about that prospect, and having seen how he dealt with Hatton, who is a lot quicker than Cotto, I'm not sure he would have much chance gainst Mayweather either.

I don't think the speed or neither Hatton nor Cotto would help their chances against Mayweather. Speed is not the way to fight Mayweather because nobody is as quick as him, although Judah wasn't far off. I think the only way to beat him is with strength, conditioning and pressure. Ricky just came forward all night trying to wear him down by wrestling him. No sign of his trademark body punching and his head movement was poor. I give Cotto a much better chance as I think he is stronger, and more skilled than Hatton. The only fighter I would be confident of against Floyd is Williams because he is so rangy and doesn't stop punching. He also throws from all sorts of angles.

Mayweather was definitely uncomfortable in the early going, ducking right down or turning his back. But one of his greatest assets I think is his adaptibility. He learns as a fight goes on and adapts what he does to combat what his opponent is doing. Hatton is great at what he does but there really isn't a plan B. Hatton should surely have tried something different after taking numerous flush shots in rounds 7-9. Desperation kicked in I think.

Perhaps Hatton really hasn't faded, but has just evolved his style somewhat? Speculation I guess but I don't think he looked as nimble on his feet as he did 2+ years ago. Where were the angles?

I thought hatton made it quite easy for Floyd. Seemed that Hatton came in too straight. I also got the feeling that Ricky believed his will, determination and stamina would win it for him and it was as if he was proving how tough he was.

I agree the ref didn't help but I think we all expected what we got.

Floyd wasn't far from 100% for the Castillo and Chavez fights.

Well Hatton would have won if Mr Vann was the ref lol I must say tho betting on Floyd to win by KO in round 8,9 or 10 gave me a very good payout,cheers floyd.

Disagree, Speed can be a factor - DLH's hands were faster than Mayweather in the early rounds especially. Feint the jab (something Hatton didn't do) and rush in. Mayweather doesn't like the jab - he'll parry it and not offer a counter.
