Lawrence Murphy lines up his first defence...
Lawrence Murphy, the Scot who won the WBU middleweight title with a sensational first round knockout over Wayne Elcock in November, makes the first defence of his title against an opponent yet to be named in the chief support to Scott Harrison's mandatory WBO title defence against Williams Abelyan on March 6 in Glasgow.

Interested to see Murphy again. He came in as a virtual unknown to upset Elcock, but apparently his amateur career was littered with KO wins.
I believe he has made slow progress as a pro due to bad hands, a common complaint of heavy hitters.
Can anyone give an assessment of his style/potential?
I reckon if FW puts Farnell in with him up in Scotland its a 'sink or swim' job.

It won't be someone too demanding for sure. Yes, Farnell could be in the frame. He came back with a win recently, and he's a ticket seller. I can't see the Scots falling over themselvs to buy tickets for Scott Harrison's defence against William Abelyan, a good fighter, but fairly unknown. So they'd need to drag a ticket seller out of the bag for a big arena like the Braehead arena. Enter Farnell...
But I just wonder if Delroy Mellis might be the man!
