these are the finals at the National championships in Mexico ( Mexico olympic team ), I see two familiar names in there, Oscar Molina and Joshua Garza, Is that Oscar ? ( javier molina's twin, ) if that is correct good for him.

Most probably. However, he will have to qualify in the Americas but, at least, won't have to box Andrade for a spot. 8)

Javier Torres is actually from Medford, Oregon and is a Bulldog boxing teammate of among others Mike Wilson. Since he was born in Mexico (like Abner Mares recently) he was able to try out for their team. Often the very best Mexican fighters skip the Olympics. Many of Team Barrera didn't even go to the trials. They have several winners in the 2006 Nationals but most are turning pro this year and the Olympics don't mean as much to Mexico.

It might start to be that way for more countries unless they start televising Olympic boxing more than they did in 2004.

Actually, Mexico doesn't care if you were born in Mexico, or not. The "criteria" is that one or both parents have to be born there. And if that isn't the case, they'll find a way if they want the athlete bad enough.

I actually talked to Javier Torres at the regional silver gloves this weekend in Norwalk, California and he told me that he's now training with the Molina twins and Robert Luna at Commerce boxing club and also told me he is a citizen but now has a dual citizenship.

Mexico will give dual citizenship if your father's cousin 6 times removed's mother's sister is a Mexican citizen. The U.S. doesn't recognize dual citizenship.

Did Robert say Oscar made the Mexican Olympic team? I heard he didn't and was turning pro.
