Or do you have a wish to see Graham Earl take yet more punishment?

.......so you put result of the Khan fight down to Khan's "sheer brilliance" then eh?

so why didn't Steffy Bull, who barely threw a punch, or Baz Carey get bombed out of there in 72 seconds. Nothing to do with Earl being in too many wars?

It was a quick stoppage. I think Earl is still a contender on the domestic scene and I don't see a fight with Limond as being a fight that should be dismissed as just more punishment for Earl.

Do you know Graham Earl personally or are you really basing your opinion on what you've seen on TV? :/

never met Graham Earle I'm basing the entire opinion on TV and common sense.

Out on feet versus Bennett.
Heavy defeat to Katsidis.
Various other "wars"
flush punches taken from Khan. Then got up straight away to take some more. Straight back on the deck then up again.
The slurred speech on ITV.

Look I'm not knocking GE in any way, not like the way some folk on here were knocking Khan calling him crap before this fight and saying how badly he was going to lose in embarrassing fashion but it was plain to see to those with a bit more sense what would happen.

The real point is this, it's a sad state of affairs if the only way Graham can make a buck is by getting in the ring to take beatings off younger , fresher opponents. What will he achieve that he hasn't already in the past - nothing. What could he lose - everything.

Feel free to remind me how the lightweight championship ended up with Thaxton as I remember Earle winning / defending (?) against Bennett.

Yes, the slurred speach is a concern - it was there BEFORE the fight.

He was definately out of it - but Earl is a notoriously slow starter - perhaps one last chance against a light puncher, maybe in an 8 rounder could be acceptable.... just to see if he was just caught cold.

Yes, thats true (we agree on something today!!) - I think he was very very lucky to get the decision in the WBU defence he did before Kastdis.

The only thing I think that this proposed fight (and I don't know how proposed is it) is that Limond is no Kastidis, Khan, or Ramonov.

Graham should be advised to retire for his own good. Brave guy, but too many wars have come back to haunt him.

Totally agree, he should have called it a day after the Katsidis battle, but I suppose he saw a decent pay day for the fight against Khan.

Yep, after Katsidis, it was like he was walking around the ring looking at ME, and I was in the 35th row!

He looked rough post-fight. I thought he might retire after that.

Only the black knight from 'The Holy Grail thinks Earl could have continued against Khan.

Saying he was ready to throw a shot is similar to saying that fighter, not sure who, who went down and threw shots whilst being counted out could have continued.
Simon Brown vs Vincent Pettway is the classic example of that

Tommy Morrison threw a few hooks on his stool after Mercer teed off on him like a kid full of fizzy cola bottles on a weeble.

A good fight for Earl, why not fight Limond - Earl has always been a slow starter and Khans fast pace from the start didnt suit him - He got caught with a good shot and never recovered - Khan did what he had to and the fight was over - It was silly for Earl to say he should have been given more time, no ref in the land, probably the planet, would have let the fight go further - Had he weathered the storm and covered up, I am certain he would have got into the fight and possibly dropped Khan - Less gifted fighters than Earl have lasted several rounds with Khan - Earls fault he didnt defend well enough, and he paid the price - Earl was also over confident and didnt respect Khans ability enough - As a result of the fight people seem to have forgotten the Limond KD and think Khan has improved so much he could win a world title next year - They also seem to think Earl is a shot fighter and needs to retire and refer to his slow speaking - Graham has always spoken like that, he isnt brain damaged or he would lose his license - If he was to lose to Limond, I would say quit.

commonly referred to in boxing as "one fight too many" except in Grahams case that was probably a couple of fights ago. Also who is saying Khan's good enough to win a world title on the back of his victory against Earl....I think you'll find those people were already of that opinion before this 72 second mismatch.

There's been more nonsense on here in relation to Khan Earl than I have seen anywhere on Boxrec.

What the hell would Graham Earl want to jump in a ring with Limond for ??? A measely couple of grand.......

eff me, wake up and smell the coffee. Graham should put his health first and I'm surprised so many "boxing fans" are suggesting he carry on taking beatings. Even if he were to beat Limond he would take plenty more punishment along the way.

I watched Earl/Katsidis last night. I was staggered when i watched the post fight interview. Earl's speech was slurred terribly. I'd advise Earl to retire. The defeat to Khan made Earl appear finished rather than Amir look amazing.

A good guy like Earl needs no more punishment. Hang em up mate.

Graham Earl has always had that "retarded" edge to him when he speaks on live television.

I like Graham Earl a lot, and I just hope that he does retire now because he's been in too many hard wars and if he fights on he's really going to be pushing his luck. People keep saying that hes a slow starter like thats some excuse, but thats part of the problem, it means that even his 'easy' fights have been won the hard way. He's obviously at the point now where any punch is a punch too many...

Earl: Tis but a scratch.

Ref: Your head's knocked off.

Earl: No it isn't. Come on you pansy

Two deluded warriors, you would need St. John's ambulance, an MRI scan machine and a dozen doctors at ringside. Both should retire, it's ludicrous.
