Mike Tyson v Danny Williams Query.....

Post by observer1 »

Not to take anything away from Danny Williams, he is a really good Boxer and a good lad... Took some Hard Shots...

I was reading though, during this fight, Tyson actually Tore his knee ligaments in the first round...

i mean any other boxer, would have gone for No Contest...

I mean if he was a footballer he would have been out for the rest of the Season !

Tyson stayed and gave a good fight.. I knew he was Crazy but...

Danny Williams isn't a good boxer actually he is a BUM.
Tyson was done after prison but after 97 except against etienne he was a real clown .
Tyson's corner was too dumb to ask a NC.  .

Williams isn't anything special. Tyson was just in the position where his physical talents were gone, & so was his interest in fighting, let alone winning.

I don't know about the knee situation (Tyson claimed to have recovered from a broken back when Etienne laid down against him - it was Bruce Seldon-esque) but if Tyson was injured or not he would likely have still lost this fight. & not cared that he did.

i love it when people insult other Boxers..
You know, he's achieved a lot more than you, and is probably more loaded than you.

so if he's a BUM, then i dont wanna get started with what you are

Something definitely happened to Tyson's knee in the first round, but it did not stop him from landing big bombs after that or walking out of the arena unaided.

The reason why Mike lost is because he lost heart, because Williams did not fall over; Tyson always gets tired when his heart goes & add in the fact that he had dreadful stamina, it culminated in an inevitable defeat. :TU:

He didn't "tear" anything. He probably had a slight pull but his handlers made it a "ligament" tear so they would have an excuse for the golden goose getting layed out by an English journeyman. I remember they had him in public on crutches and then days later people saw him jumping on the hood of a car

It wasnt even a ligamament tear. His MCL and ACL were fine. He had a torn meniscus that he recovered from shortly after the fight. He got beat beacause Williams took everything he had and fought back. Tyson had his heart taken away and gave up.

Tyson's leg snapped clean off at the hip but he heroically fought on for another two rounds.

Against Lewis, somebody had heavily dosed him with general aneasthetic but his super-human willpower kept him upright for eight rounds.

Buster Douglas had gone into a deep state of decomposition but still the crooks in charge found a way to reanimate his corpse, leading to the fluke victory.

Holyfield had cut Tyson's skull down to the brain with a chainsaw he'd sneaked into the ring but somehow Tyson fought on and only did what he did because the referee wasn't helping him and his kids would have to look at him later.

Its difficult to believe a man who writes in the verse of a pre-pubescent child and uses over 10 emoticons in a single post and talks of donkeys is 'more loaded' than Danny Williams who has earned several hundred grand in his respectable career.

Queue witty retort: 'your mother' etc, etc

I don't care what you believe.
Danny Williams has a respectable career?????????????????????
  :lol:he never fought against anybody respectable until tyson he is a bum like mcbride look what happened with mcbride against golota.

In April 1999 williams fought with Julius Francis for his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles. A hot favourite, Williams was outboxed and lost a lopsided points decision to the 34 year old veteran.lol
Tyson out of prime crushed francis, later Williams won the title with a closely contested split decision over the all time great lol British contender Harry Senior.lol
His contract with don king was not renewed at the end of 2002 because williams was too good, lol.
In February 2003 Williams travelled to Germany to fight the Turk Sinan Samil Sam another all time great lol for his European heavyweight title. A hot favourite, Williams was surprisingly dropped three times and stopped in six one-sided round, lol.
A lot of times he fought fat and look at his ranking simply pathetic.
Williams is a joke.

He only fought against Tyson coz
Tyson's camp knew how bad he was and obviously Tyson in a tremendous bad shape had a chance to beat him coz he was a completely clown.
Williams without tyson fight would be an unknown fighter to the public.
You have problems with
emoticons and donkeys  :o maybe some child trauma? When people say brainless things i think emoticons are a good way to express how funny it is to call a bum like williams a good fighter.
I like emoticons so what???
Are you happy or do you want more emoticons .

Marion Wilson is a bum. Danny Williams is not a bum. He is a fringe contender/gate keeper. He beat Tyson and has had some good fights with the other top British HWs. He may come out of shape, but he does have heart and a punch as the Tyson fight shows. he also beat a guy by KO when he was fighting with one arm injured and hanging limply at his side. Is he a top fighter? No. I would say he is far from a bum.

The correct term is journeyman. Sure he didn't beat anybody special but he wasn't exactly Sammy Scaff.

He's not a journeyman either. Journeymen typically come to lose/survive, or even if they do come to win, tend to be rugged triers and little else, fighting out of the right-side of the bill.

Danny Williams is a former British and Commonwealth champion and a world and European challenger, with a great deal more wins than losses, who almost exclusively fights out of the left-side of the bill.

This is not the description of a journeyman, much less a bum.

Danny Williams is, as BJH says, a fringe contender. Zuri Lawrence is borderline. Marion Wilson is a journeyman. Very fewboxers should be described as bums because it is tremendously disrespectful to any man who does this job, but if we have to find someone, then perhaps Karriem Respress fits the bill.

He defeated Tyson coz tyson was injured williams is a coward a guy with panic atacks before the fights and he had a disrepectful behavior against old tyson with low blows and dirty faults.
williams should shut his dirty mouth about his win against tyson he is a nobody.
Vitali punished him like a dog after his trash talk about steroids.
He was full of gas against tyson doing a lot of faults he forgot to do the same against vitali.

He is better than scaff which was an ultra bum for me he is pathetic and British and Commonwealth belts aren't nothing the guy never was a top 10 and we are in the worst boxing era of all time.
A good fighter for me is young or morrison this guy is a journeyman.

You are obviously still bitter that he blasted out Ol' Iron Mike. Williams is not a coward. You dont finish a fight (and win by KO) with an arm you cant use unless you have some courage. That fact that Williams even gets in the ring should show that he is not a coward. Williams is not a bum.

If anyone should shut their dirty mouth it is you. Your comments show a complete lack of knowledge regarding williams in particular and boxing in general.

Not to take anything away from Williams, but Tyson was light years away from his best. If he were at his peak, I really don't think the likes of Williams would have even contemplated boxing Tyson.

In saying that, Williams showed character & heart to come back from a massive uppercut Tyson landed in the first round I think? Williams was definately on queer street when the punch landed & that's why he was grabbing onto Mike for dear life.

Having a big guy leaning on you like that, must tire you out after a while?

Williams himself admitted Tyson was something like 40% of what he was and said he would never claim to have been able to beat a 100% Tyson. He was under no illusions, but took the win for what it gave him - instant fame and a massive gee-up the rankings.
