Heavyweight Paul King has been jailed for life, for 3 sickening sex attacks.

He beat and raped 3 different women, also in he took photos of one of these attacks.

Hope he stays inside for a long time.

Yeah, not enough is it?

4 years per rape.

Still he will have to go on the register forever, and will be known as a sex case everywhere.

Looks like SPUD had a lucky escape, werent they roommates?

it can be 12 years or alot longer or less, depending on parole boards etc, also they are on lifelong licence on their release, which means they can be recalled to prison for any breach of their parole conditions.

I didn't want to comment on this until after he had been found guilty, but now he has been, what a disgrace of a human being! I hope this stays out of the media. After a positive few months for British boxing, the last thing we need is for all that good work to be undone by a beast like King.

I am going to comment on this thread - the moderators need to keep an eye on this - forums are a playground for banter and long may that continue even if I seem to be at the brunt end of most of it - tough sh*t I suppose - but this thread rightfully is a serious one and so please leave your sh*t about me to one side!!

The most important thing of all to say is I genuinally have a massive amount of sympathy for the victims of the sort of crimes that Kingy has been found guilty of - there are no excuses for Kingy's actions and there is no way in this world I am going to condone what Kingy has done - no chance - he has been found guilty and thus anyone's conclusion must be he has been sent to the right place.

I will say again I really do feel very sad for the victims - Women as well as us blokes should feel safe in the UK and it is very sad that all of us have to look over our shoulders on certain occasions.

Don't ask me anything else concerning this matter.

Just on this occasion - respect the victims - There is no room for banter on this thread.

I started this thread because i saw the story and found it genuinely shocking, it wasn't started to have a dig at 'Spud'.
I don't know 'Spud' , but if he's been interviewed by the police, and has no connection at all with the case against Paul King, then people should lay off him.

A JUDGE has criticised police and prosecutors for ignoring a prostitute's rape allegation - leaving a Sheffield boxer free to rape two more women.
Heavyweight fighter John Paul King, aged 33, denied raping all three women, two of whom were prostitutes, but he was convicted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court.

Serial sex attacker King, of Welwyn Road, Gleadless, who stands at 6ft 6ins tall, was given three life sentences for the rapes and will not be considered for parole for at least eight years.

The separate attacks took place in April 2004, April 2006 and February 2007 but the prosecution was only brought when West Yorkshire Police undertook a review of cases.

King's first victim was a prostitute who he attacked in his car behind a sex shop in Attercliffe.

She told the court she reported the attack to South Yorkshire Police on the night it happened, handed in her clothing and had swabs taken but she was not contacted again until two-and-a-half years later.

In that time King went on to attack two more girls - one he picked up in Sheffield and took to a car park in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and a second Sheffield prostitute in a Neepsend car park.

During the third attack King, who was handed a 12 month suspension from boxing in 2005 after verbally abusing a referee and pushing him during a fight at Rotherham's Magna Centre, knocked his victim unconscious.

King had been due take on former Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison - who would have been his most well-known opponent - in October at Sheffield Arena but the fight was cancelled because he was arrested for the rapes.

A review of all three incidents by West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team in partnership with the complex casework unit of the CPS led to the prosecution being brought.

Det Supt Tim Forber, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "John Paul King is a predatory sex offender who took advantage of young, vulnerable women whom he did not think would complain or would not be believed if they did.

"The violence used in some cases was extreme and the length of the sentence given by the courts reflects the seriousness of the crime."
Jailing him, Judge Trevor Barber described King as "arrogant" and said he was "devoid of humanity and conscience".

"You are a serious sexual predator whose behaviour beggars belief," he said.

After the sentence, Judge Barber addressed the Crown Prosecution Service and said had it not been for review, King might never have been brought to justice.

"Someone, somewhere took the decision not to prosecute," he said.
"There were three allegations against the same block.

"One of his victims was found curled up in a ball crying her eyes out and another had physical injuries."

Prosecutor Jeremy Hill-Baker said: "Your concerns are shared by everyone on the prosecution team."

The court also heard that King was awaiting trial for three allegations of assault occasioning actual body harm following an incident in a nightclub, which may now be dropped because of his sentence.

The above article suggests King is a real nasty piece of work. Whilst prostitutes are notorious for making trumped up accusations, it is startling that the police were prepared to try and sweep his first attack under the carpet.

It would seem that it is not just boxing fora that operate policies of selective editing to protect a few from the views of those deemed lower down the social pecking order.

the key thing about this thread ism that we cease to link spud to any of the atrocities. i have more reason than most to feel quite happy that spud, in his naivity, was once again using boxing forums for his.... 'i know and have roomed with tom dick and harry threads' ....

but...

there is no way i would even think of spud in the same breath as this fella, if king has committed these crimes then the book should be thrown at him, perhaps he should have shown the same amount of aggression in the ring, personally, the story about king knocking someone unconscious seems a bit far fetched......as he has not managed it in a boxing ring in nearly 4 years !!!!

so, lets be careful what we write in this thread. we now know the crimes, they are from kings life outside the boxing ring, so lets leave them there....

perhaps he can fight gary delaney while he is in there !!!
