Some time later, Midnight Oil

Then we get The Wiggles

It has all evolved into these guys

Now coming from America I will not tell anyone how to run their popular culture, as we spew out more than our share of crap, and alot of the rest of the worlds crappy pop culture is our fault anyway. You guys are going in the wrong direction on the gayness ladder.

Who is your minister of communication Sam Soliman?

Get over it. The Wiggles are all married men with kids. Have a look at all the faggots who are coming out of the woodwork among Conservative politicians and commentators.

And if the current Pope does not look like a poof I don't know who does.

By the way, didn't your country give the world Rock Hudson, Randolph Scott, Cole Porter, Liberace and James "The Human Ashtray" Dean?

And probably you...

Just poking alittle fun, no need to jump on me, if you will notice in my disclaimer I covered the fact that the USA puts out more than its share of garbage and then some.

Yeesh dude, I didnt mean "gay" in the literal sense anyway, I'd think someone from a country where all the dudes run around calling each other "mate" would know I wasnt speaking in a literal sense.

Hey JA, you wanna claim the remainder of the Irwin clan? Feel free :TU: . Terri is American and every time she says "crikey" I cringe worse than when Steve said it. Bindi (god bless her, the little the cash cow) speaks with an American accent of sorts these days too

As for Steve, I don't like to speak ill of the dead (but will anyway)..........he's from Melbourne just like I am. He grew up about 7 miles from my place and I can guarantee you that NOBODY from where he grew up speaks anything remotely like how Steve spoke. It was all for show and especially for the US market's continued fascination with the Aussie caricature of the Crocodile Dundee persona

Anyway, I'd like to finish with a Joe Pesci quote from Casino which pretty much sums up the Irwins......"always the fvckin dollar"

P.S. Are you a Midnight Oil fan JA? I thought they never made much noise in the US music scene. If so, great choice in music there and I suggest you look into their earlier stuff. You may be interested to learn that the singer Peter Garrett, is a federal politician these days

Mark "Chopper" Reid, formerly a major criminal, now a stand-up comedian and author. Eric Bana played him in the film "Chopper", based on Reid's autobiography.

I wasnt really a Midnight Oil fan.
They had a run of popularity that lasted around 2 years in the late 80's early 90's (I understand they existed long before this) here in the states, around the time they released songs like Blue Sky Mine, & Beds Are Burning. I think their sucess was short lived because 99.9999% of the Americans didnt get the political issues that inspired these songs, and you can only go so far with just solid songs.

I was definently more into Men At Work 8)

Then again, there are bands that win awards in the USA that don't draw breath over here.

Not much room for them with all the British music being played there.

Who knows? I saw something about some supposedly famous English singer named Winehouse or something. I had never heard of her, neither had my young adult daughters.
