Herbie Hide Calls Out David Haye and Fights for WBC internat

Post by josh fg »

Challenger Hide chasing Haye
by JP Lonergan, 14 December 2007

Herbie Hide is looking to step into the ring with world cruiserweight champion David Haye in 2008.

Next up for Hide is a crack at the WBC international title on December 23 when he faces Russian Mikhail Nasyrov in Germany. However, Hide is looking further ahead and is determined to face the Czech fighter sooner rather than later.

"I would have loved to strip the belt from Kraj by beating him in the ring,” said Hide.
“But to be honest I don't care who I'm fighting.

"I am the best cruiserweight in the world today anyway. Maybe I will get the chance to prove that I'm better than Kraj in a world championship bout next year.

"But I don't really care who it is - I'll beat everyone who's wearing a belt! The most prestigious fight would probably be one against David Haye.

"All England is waiting to see us go at it! And I tell you, I would be cutting Haye big time!"

I don't think the fight will go ahead with Haye but interesting to see that he has a fight for WBC international it looks to me like his come back is resonably seriouse. We'll see how he does on the 23rd.

Big Mac would never have dared do what Haye did, i.e. go abroad and stop the home guy/champion. Let's stop the rot that is crawling on these boards.

Yes, let's stop the rot, like discussing Hide v either Haye or Macc ever again. He would get pasted by them both inside 3.

Agreed. There are much better fights for Haye - Hide would be a considerable step backwards. Enzo needs to be looking to prove himself against the elite, although Hide may bring decent cash with little risk so you coud see 'allegedly' considering it.

If hide can beat this unbeaten easten european then he will be as good as anyone else at cruzer to fight Enzo, I'd be more interested in that than Bobby fcuking Gunn!
