Collins2000, I think we have similar thinking my friend.

I am a boxing nut, but the local scene is pretty much dead to me.

I think most of the posters in here are pretty much of the same opinion regarding the local shows being served up every fortnight on Fox.

Of course, there are a few who claim any criticism is not fair, but they are usually friends or family of certain local heroes so they aren't exactly giving an objective opinion.

I think when a bloke gets to 15-0 or similar it's time to stop importing Manilla Folders and Thai Ringers and cast the net a bit wider for some Brits or Americans with verifiable records and known form. Sure, some of the locals will get exposed but we might get to see some better fights and boxing in Australia will benefit long term.

Bowie Tupou is in the USA and the competition does not seem any better. Most of the top heavies now seem to be from former Soviet Union countries.

Yeah but looking at the sort of blokes hes fighting , they are still scraping the bottom of the barrell for him. I think hes going to be a big drawcard for promoters over in America if they can put on shows in towns with a large pacific population.
Keeping him undefeated might be part of that plan

Question for the bored and enlightened people here.... Do you have a spare $500.000 to a $1.000.000 that you are not currently using and can afford to be without for a couple years?

Well, now we have another WBA Champ.

Danny Green, unanimous decision, 118-111, 118-110, 120-108 over Stipe Drews.

Drews has now fought two Aussies for his only two losses.
