Thaxton is a tough old dog. An excellent test for Khan in my opinion!

Think Thaxton would destroy Earl though, he's shot to bits!!!!

Although I'm sure after the Limond fight that some on this forum would like to suggest that Khan's whiskers are about as resillient as an egg, I think Khan's hand speed would be far too fast for him and Thaxton would last not much longer than Earl!!

I also think Delia would have a shot at beating Earl now

Khans got some neck on him at times, Thaxtons been calling for this fight for god knows how long and now Khans insinuating its Jon that doesn't want the fight.

Come on Wellington, put Khan straight with a press release.

I hope the fight comes off, this ITV press release sounds promising. I'm a fan of Thaxtons, but I'd like Amir to do well as well, so I'm just gonna sit back, make no predictions and enjoy the fight. As SweetScience said i can't see this being released by Khan if he didn't want the fight. Feb 2nd sounds a possibility.

Amirs awesome offensively and I don't think we have much to worry about regarding his stamina, if his whiskers are sound he'll go a veeerrrrtyyy long away IMO (theres the Chambers kiss of death). Thaxton could give his chin a decent workout.

Very interesting fight

COME ON WELLINGTON!!! Lets have an press release mocking Khan and Bolton :box:

Are we honestly expected to believe Amir said all that sh-t? Wheres he been hiding that wit & command of the english language these last 3 years? Another week, another crappy press release.

I know the quotes wouldn't have come from Amirs mouth, but surely he and SN would have been aware of the presser and they wouldn't release it without some intent of fighting JT IMO.

I don't mind the pre-fight banter in these articles, its all theatrics, but they're mildly entertaining

They're entertaining to the mindset of someone who enjoys WWF wrestling.

Im sure Amir will fight Thaxton yet, but hes had ample opportunites to fight him before when he was inititally calling him out.

We all know Thaxton has been willing & able for yonks, so why now sit in the SN office and create this stupid press release like a hardnut like Thaxton would cower because Amir slapped out a shot dwarf with no chin.

Yawn again.

"In fact I think I'd get more more of a challenge from Delia Smith - at least she can break an egg!
"Sadly I think there's more chance of Thaxton turning up on the side of a pint of milk than getting in the ring with me."
Who writes these jokes? they're fvckin terrible!

Why don't people come up with their own trash talk. As I see it, the above offering is pathetic and totally void of any credibility.

Its really annoying that Khan has come out with this. The Limond punches must have caused memory loss. 'Lets be having you', is he forgetting that Thaxton offered to fight him for free??????????

Now THAT is funny!

I have to say though, it's impossible to tell from that fight if Earl is actually shot. He was just completely overwhelmed and caught cold. He couldn't get out of the way of anything...but then he never has been able to.

Earl was caught by Khan's concussive speed and accuracy.

He will be too much for Thaxton.

I try my best.

The slurred speech & dazed look in the previews were ominous, then watching a guy who took a thundering 5 rd pounding collapsing under 1 swatting left hook tipped me off that Earl was shot to pieces.

I think it's probably more telling that he is shot by the fact Johnny Eames has refused to coach him anymore....

I bet he's been getting dropped in sparring, and some savvy m,atch maker at SN put the fight together to flatter Khan.

No way Khan would have done that to Earl before the Katstidis fight!

Its not a pop at Amir at all--like i said fair play to him. The guy was past it so Amir belted him out quickly, as opposed to prodding him for 12 slow rds ala Audley/Julius Francis.

These jokes are more worthy of Bobby Chariot :)

Remember him!

Khan would beat Thaxton, but Jon is an old warhorse and won't go down as easily as Earl.

Nobody would. It was rapid.....

I agree Earl pre-Katsidis wouldn't have lost like that. Probably late TKO..

Thaxton offered to fight at no expence to SN, he even said he would fight him in Nottingham at his next date.
How is that ducking him????
