Jon Joe Irwin comeback?

Its seems like another fighter who disappeared without trace is planning a comeback, following in the footsteps of Harry Dhami.

Former British and Commonwealth champion Jon Joe Irwin is on the verge of coming back according to boxing central, after a FOUR years absence.

I always thought he left on a horrible note in that dour fight with Robinson. He was a good fighter, who although was a little shy of World class was still undoubetly a classy opperater, who just failed short but never outclaseed when he faught in geniune world class.

What does anyone think of this comeback, if he is as good as he was in 1999 then undoubtely he can win his own lonsdale belt, but I doubt he can be the force he was FOUR years ago.

He had a good scrap with Paul Ingle. I thought he had good boxing skills, but never carried enough power to discourage opponents and always seemed to get cuts.

Good fighter. Virtually outclassed a young Esham Pickering in a featherweight title defence. It will be good to see him back.

Yes that was true, he must be old now - however, I thought he done well outside of the ring. If he's coming back for the right reasons and knows he's still got it - then he'll be a very useful addition to the featherweight scene. Cook vs a prime Irwin would be a close call.

With Brodie and Harrison possibly world champions soon, there might be a chance of a possible world title shots (if the champions want a mark time defence ala DLH vs Campas).

He's 34. He could secure a fight with Alex Arthur pretty quickly if he wanted. He's coming back at super-feather.
