I'm pretty sure the 850k is just HBO in America's figures.

I can't remember where I read it, sky BO estimated a million buys, which would be insane.

considering that lewis-tyson did 750,000 over here, big PPV #s cannot be ruled out.

hatton-floyd was a fight that ppl are actually talking about, the kind of event that you can be sure some of your mates/colleagues actually saw or knew about.

Heard it was 900k in the UK and 850k in the US. Not bad!

The Hatton's must have made an astonishing cut of that PPV revenue, makes their handling of the tickets almost uncomprehendable. Did they really need to be selling tickets at multiples of face value? Hardly.

I still cannot believe that number. That said, the fact so many are mentioning figures around the 900K mark may make it so. If it does turn out to be the case, it just shows how malleable the general public really are. A week of hype and marketing and people who wouldn't dream of tuning in to a boxing match normally are prepared to shell out and sit up all night to watch a fight.

I suppose if there is enough hype behind something, the public will buy into it (see X Factor and other shite for more evidence). So many are bleating sheep. It's sad.
