Surely the WBA have some rule about fighting mandatory challengers. Mundine will go from Clavero to Hamden ie voluntary/voluntary. How can this be. As for the fight itself- tell me it isn't so. :x

Hamdan is way past it and Mundine knows it, do what I do when Mundine fights an undeserving fighter - ignore it.
Unfortunately this hurts Hamdan a figter that I like, but he will get paid

Totally agree Ross.

Nadar has been heading downhill ever since he was easily outpointed by Sam Soliman.

Maybe Mundine wants Hamden to have a big payday before he retires.

That's exactly right! Mundine even said that in the press conference today....

Worst matchup ive seen in a long time, Mundine chickened out years ago when Hamden was in his prime and now he wants to fight him when Hamden isnt even a top 100 fighter.

Yes, its a horrible match up but comments like that deserve a

Look for Green to pull a banana out of somewhere and fight not long after, setting up the inevitable rematch which IMO isnt required at all and is just a money grab by both.

Does Mundine really thinking he is fooling anyone with this fight?

In hamdan's last fight Mads Larsen beat him. Wouldn't Mundine/Larsen be a fairer matchup? Or Kessler (who has beaten Choc)? Or Lacy?

Nah they might test Mundine, he wouldn't want that...

Yes, there are obviously much better matchups out there, but the problem is unfortunately choc can make enough $$$ fighting easy fights so the incentive to fight better calibre simply isnt there.

The need to improve through better opposition obviously doenst drive the Mundines at all.

So, the problem comes back to us, the paying public. Anyone who buys these horrible shows can only blame themselves.

I can sleep at night knowing I havnt paid for a Mundine fight in a long time, but Im obviously the minority of boxing fans.

And the same goes for Green when he no doubt pulls out a bananarama for his next fight.

I have never paid for a Mundine fight... apart from Green Mundine, but that was a Green fight in my book not a Mundine fight...

Whats wrong with the comments, Mundine met Hamden and another Fenech fighter years ago in a press confrenence and said he wouldnt fight his Muslim Brother. Hamden was undeafeted at the time and at his peak.

I'd prefer to see mundine fight Sakio Bika, better challenge than hamden, even though i still think Mundine would win easily.

At this point in time Bika would be 10 times the threat Hamden is. So he won't be fighting Mundine.

I saw Hamdan lose every round in a totally uncompetitive 8 rounder with the average Mads Larsen. That's the sort of form the Mundines like when they are picking an opponent to defend against.

I think Mundine is a very good fighter but these kinds of matches are a joke.

By god this makes me think of Ray Robinson giving a way past it and in need of money Kid Gavilan, a decent payday before he retired. Anthony Mundine = Ray Robinson

Disappointing. For a man with all that ability he is a bit shameless. Time Mundine took a gamble. Looking back, with his style and speed, he should've beaten Kessler, instead of languishing on those ropes and giving most of the rounds away.

Mundine seems to have improved a lot since Kessler, so it makes it even more wretched. But I suppose it's good easy work from his POV.
