Hey guys, I know this is somewhat off topic..
BUT...
I just re-watched Patterson Vs Bonavena and I could not help to notice just how much Bonavena's hair style reminded me of the late 70s to the present day (in some suburbs of Australia) version of the mullet. I just have not seen to many people with this style of hair so early in the 1970s.
Good fight however. Bonavena is always tough, stubborn fighter and Patterson shows that even at a late stage in his career he is still an upper tier fighter.
Kym
Bonavena pioneers the mullet.
there was a hair style in the very early 70s, 1970-73 called a Shag, a 'unisex' hair shape & cut, it was quite cool and looked great on 'chicks'. It was mullet like, yet the sides were somewhat longer in length, therefore the back, the mullet wasn't as noticable (and in some cases drastic) of it's self...
Google it, you'll probably find some really beautiful chicks. Post the pics, I don't know how.

the Mullet/history of
You ever see the hairdoo on Luis Firpo's brother back in the 1920's?
Comination pompadueur/Rocka-billy.
Maybe the mullet had its origins on the Argentinean pampas.
Thats one for the hair historians to figure out.

Ringo
I had heard itt was because Bonavena and the Beatles at one time were staying at the same hotel and some groupies started screaming when they saw Bonavena because they thought he was Ringo, even though he had about 6 inches in height and a hundred pounds on Ringo Starr.
