Evander Holyfield. The four-time heavyweight champion fights in Memphis in May or June.
Riddick Bowe also intends to return to the ring in Memphis when he gets out of prison in the summer.
Elvis ain't the only famous dead body there...

Modern Science has done all it can with evander, he is totally finished, there are few i feel who he could beat out there, he was clear after 3 round against toney, he had absolutely nothing left, and he was not due to James' body punching, but simply his advanced age and ring wars.

So Holyfield continues his quest, he's searching for a world title or permanent injury i don't know which. Obviously pictures of Gerald McClellan, Greg Page etc don't deter a man who has so much money you would think he could buy some sense and retire in a reasonably fit state. He has nothing left, all he can do is become a higher class yard stick for up and comers. If i was Joe Mesi, Wlad Klitschko, J.C. Gomez etc i would be queueing up to add his name to my record.

Does any forum members give Holyfield a chance against a slower, bigger heavyweight. Remember it was only 3 fights ago he scored a good win over Rahman.

I too can't see him beating anyone of note, but maybe a fight with someone like Lance Whittikar, Michael Grant or a Jameel McCline (of course he's busy) might still be available.

He looked so good in the 1st vs Toney, I really did think he turned back the clock.

Good points Stu, but seriously should he be considering fighters like the ones you mentioned? That would definately indicate there would would be no point in him continuing if he is going to fight guys of that calibre. It would be signing a death sentence, if he going to continue he needs big fights so he can at least try to motivate himself.

The reason why I mentioned these is because they are big, slow with a relatively low workrate. All 3 have some sort of name recognition, if Holyfield wins then he may get another world title shot - which is what he wants.

There are two fights out there (non-title) that will sell and motivate Holyfied, one is Holyfield vs Bowe IV, the other is Holyfield vs Tyson III.

The devision is poor enough for Holyfield to comeback and get a crack at the title - however, he'll have to have some sort of win (I think he's lost 5 of his last 7). Maybe he should look at Whittikar or Grant.

Oh yes don't get me wrong i totally agree Stu but i just cannot see Holyfield condoning his decision to fight on with matches against those type of guys. I mean wouldn't he rather retire than put his 41 frame through the mill of getting prepared for those bouts? Surely not. He is striking me as a fool.

Holyfield is shot and I beg him to retire, but he'd have too much for any of the Brit igrade (bar Lewis and Akinwande, obviously).

As dissapointing Holyfield was vs Toney, Samil Sam was equally as poor against Gomez. If Sam beat Williams, then Holyfield would.

As for Harrison, Holyfield would outfox him.
