In all the time i've been reading and posting on here James is one of the people whos opinions i'll take notice of, he seems a knowledgeable guy but when i read that i was shocked. I cant see how anyone picks Woods over Kessler, the only advantage he has as far as i can see is size. Kessler is better in every department for me.
As for the poll, i voted for Froch, i think it would be one of the greatest fights i'll ever see if it came off, and definitely the hardest for Joe. But i suppose the sensible fight is Hopkins as he's a bigger name, will bring more money and recognition, and is a lot more beatable.
I don't really see what Kessler does better. Kessler is big and strong at 168, has a nice jab, and a good straight right, and good power, but I don't think he's a better all round fighter than Woods.
Woods has more variety in his work, just because he struggled with Johnson I think people are underrating him, he's not come close to losing anyone else lately.
Bizzare that people think that the flat footed Froch would be a massive problem for Joe, whilst the busier and more mobile, not to mention bigger and tougher Woods wouldn't.

I'd just be very surprised if many people agreed about Woods. He's an average Champion in an average division. He was completely outclassed by RJJ (although to be fair so were most people that faced Jones at that time) and many would say he got lucky against Johnson, and the mandatories the IBF have given him are hardly world beaters. I think both Calzaghe and Kessler are a class above Woods and although he'd put up a fight, he'd lose an embarrasingly wide decision against either of them.
Would love to see him shut up Hopkins, and that is where the big money is for him.
If not Hopkins, then maybe a fight with Woods - I feel that Woods, although doing well for himself late on in his career is not someone who will trouble Calzaghe too much. It isn't one to set the pulses racing.
As for Froch? - Well I really don't see what he has done to warrant a shot - And the people calling for this are the one's who get drawn in by smack talk.

What had Calzaghe done in 1997 to warrant fighting the legendary Eubank for the WBO belt?
Froch is a top contender & he deserves a shot on that basis.
