If Warren sticks Khan in with Katsidis next year will you all be happy, or will you be moaning because he hasn't taken on Jon Thaxton? I'd like to see Khan vs Thaxton too but Jono's performance against Dave Stewart left a lot to be desired. I'd rather see Thaxton take on John Murray for now.
As for Warren harming British boxing, are you serious? Frank's delivered some big fights and big shows this year - arguably his best for a long time and he's kicking off the New Year with Mitchell-Johanneson which will be a cracker.
Thankyou for a post that makes some sense. People are too eager to criticise Khan and Warren, and it results in a load of nonsense being spouted on this forum.
Khan is clearly learning and developing, and I have no problems with the opposition he has fought to-date. His performance against Earl was excellent. As Ben states, it would be nice to see him fight Thaxton, but he is not looking that great and at the end of the day, this Dane is not a bad match up and could provide a route to a world title fight. If you were Khan you would be buzzing at this prospect. The lad is eager to be the best and become a world champion. So chill the phuk out and just enjoy the fight! You lot spend so much time moaning about boxing that I wonder if you actually enjoy it! Boxing is entertainment.
Boxing is entertainment yes, but mismatches are not.
I know very little of this fella, but it looks to me that ITV have only give SN those extra Khan dates on the understanding that a world title shot happens. In that sense, this is a perfect fight.
As for the fight, my guess is the Dane will show plenty of willing, but will take a steady beating from Khan.

no one is overeager to criticise and i'm sorry but i don't see too much "rubbish" being written here on this thread.
i agree that the british forums are hyper critical and miserly but this thread seems fine.
I can't see them putting Khan in with Katsidis anytime soon considering their complete avoidance so far of anyone who can punch their way out of a wet paper bag.

Cos he now believes he is top dog here in Britain - Warren said Earl held that position before their fight so having beaten Earl, Khan now claims he is the best - Its a nonsense how can you say you are the best in Britain without beating the British champion - IMO Jon is the best until Khan can prove otherwise.

They'll beat this next guy, wait for Katsidis to look really bad - which the Aussie is capable of - and then take him when he's ready to be taken. Sod Romanov, who can throw a compact power shot and chop down a tricky fight (i.e. Vanzie).
I wouldnt agree that you have to beat or have been the british champion to say your the best in britain, if your good enough you can leap frog those sort of titles, Eubank and Benn did, not saying Khan is by any means in that mould, but the british title is not as prestigous as what it was, very few of the actual british champions are the best in britain, and never will be at there respective weight.
They call out Thaxton and he's ducking, then they make a crap fight!
What a crew of gonks
FW said before Khans last fight "Earl is the number one regardless of what Thaxton thinks" - Now Khan has beaten Earl he continues to ignore Thaxton and gives Khan the top spot - Until Khan beats the British champion in my book Jon Thaxton is the legit number one, so I ignore FW on this issue.
Earl boxed on a higher level though than Thaxton and has the win over Romanov which made him British No 1.
I don't see how Thaxton's any better, he was awful against Lawton and Stewart most going for the KO. At least Earl was competitive against Katsidis, but Katsidis has barely anyway defence at all.
As long as Khan didn't get clipped or his chin exposed as bad, then he would outbox the hell out of Katsidis.

Good post but someone like Limond but a better version on a higher level would be better for Khan anyway than someone like Thaxton who just goes for huge shots and Is easy to hit.
It won't teach Khan much except to keep his hands up which he's needs more than hands up for world level.
Unlike Thaxton, Limond doesn't waste shots and was patient and timed him right.
It was a temple shot though so his chins still unproven.
Decent fight in my opinion. Seen a fair amount of Kristjansen - he could pose problems. A neat boxer - better a bit all round than Limond IMO - who gave Khan problems.

Since the mid rounds against Romanov, Earl has been hammered in every consecutive fight!

I guess it comes down to the WBO ranking in the end - and perhaps on the side, a fear on the part of Sports Network that Khan still hasn't got the rounds in his legs for any serious challenge. Their view may well be that a path via Kritjansen then JT (a fight for which Khan would have no serious reason for running) on toward whomsoever holds the WBO would be preferable.
Well I think it is a good match up and I am probably one of the few. I am dissapointed because they talked up Jon and Romanov however the WBO ranking is good (though absurd) and had there not been previouse talk of other opponents we would be happy with that.
Still don't think the guy has a punch but he drew with Zoff so must be around EBU level.
