It will be interesting to see what happens if Johnson Dawson comes off in April. I think that will tell us a lot about where Johnson is at...Autobarn wrote:I think he'd beat up an old man like Johnson.ben k wrote:Id take Green over Johnson, I think Green beats any fighter at 175 or 168 that will stand and trade with him. Dawson beats both of them. Glen Johnson would beat Green dont no about Briggs.
Danny Green WBA Light Heavyweight Champion of the World!
I was very surprised by how vibrant and energetic Green has looked ever since he got his mystery medical problem sorted out and moved up a division. Others have said this, but he looks a new fighter, ever since that Delisle rematch.
Green did look like a monster until after the 1st Beyer fight, but seems to have really gained something and thankfully is no longer a nearly man.
Johnson is really feeling a long, hard career. He can still fight but has nothing for the late rounds.

I think when Green was on the way up, he was just the kind of fighter for Calzaghe to stay away from. In his prime, he was a monster at super middleweight, but he seemed to really lose something after that controversial Beyer fight. He should have squashed Beyer like a bug 1st time & things would've been a lot different. Good to see he's finally got there.
Green is two inches taller than Mundine. Why would he have trouble reaching him? I doubt that either boxer would consider taking a dive, and do not see how it would improve the purse in a follow up fight.p4p1 wrote:^^^ green may look stronger at the weight but he will still have trouble reaching mundine, but i wouldnt be suprised if mundine threw the next green fight for a mega dollar rubber match but im not sure weather mundine would do this as i think he is a proud person.
Its not the reach its Mundines ability to aviod punches, Green is tall enough but if he dosnt use his jab he can forget about beating Mundine. In there first fight Green attacked the body for 12 rounds and had no plan B when he was being outboxed.Brute wrote:Green is two inches taller than Mundine. Why would he have trouble reaching him? If Green can turn the fight ugly and manhandle Mundine( like Siaca) he could beat him but if he try's to out box him it will be a long night all over again.

I agree that Mundine would beat Green again. I think it would be closer than their first fight, but Mundine would win a clear decision or even a late KO/TKO. To stand a chance Green has to jab to perfection and rough Mundine up as much as possible (at LHW Green should be able to do this, as he seemed to have no strength advantage in their first fight).
I'd much rather see Mundine fight some top American fighters, and I think Green should defend against Garay then look to unify with Woods, both fights I see him winnning.
