Sato Retained OPBF Middleweight Title

As reported by Joe Koizumi, Koji Sato (11-0, 10 KOs) retined the OPBF middleweight title by knocking out Manabu Komatsu. The count reached 10 at 3:04 of the 3rd round. Sato weighed 160, Komatsu 159 3/4.

In other bouts on the card:

Toshiaki Nishioka (30-4-3, 18 KOs) kayoed Pedrito Laurente (18-12-1, 8 KOs as per the report; his record as per BoxRec will be 18-13-1, 8 KOs once its updated) at 0:48 of the 9th round. Nishioka's weight was 124; Laurente's 123 1/2.

Yoshimitsu Yashiro (19-0-1, 10 KOs) scored a unanimous decision (99-92, 99-92, 100-92) after 10 rounds over Koji Kawamura (13-1-1, 5 KOs). Both fighters weighed in at 130.

Mr. Koizumi, who was recently elected to the IBHOF and will be inducted next year, wrote his report for FightNews (why what I actually type has to be changed to fightviews is beyond me).

Mr. Koizumi is certainly a reputable source. Besides currently being a feature writer for that other website, he's listed as your editor for Japan.

I can only see Yuba/Akibei results in BoxRec

On the "Yuba Retained Japanese Welterweight Title" thread (in various posts on the thread), I listed the results of 6 different fights:

Tadashi Yuba- Ushiwakamara Akibei,
Ryota Kajiki- Primus Phyton (AKA Piton),
Kenji Yoshida- Tsunejiro Sato,
Kazunori Takayama- Rikiya Fukuhara,
Junichiro Kaneda- Takumi Suda, and
Takahisa Masuda- Wido Paez.

The Yuba-Akibei, Yoshida-Sato, and Takayama-Fukuhara fights appear on BoxRec. Kajiki-Phyton, Kaneda-Suda, and Masuda-Paez don't but should.
