Advice Please?
Advice Please?
I am slightly copying the "what weight will i get to?" thread made by billy bessey here.
I currently weight 15stone 7pounds and I usually fight at light heavyweight (amateurs), so I need to get down to 175lbs before July if I want to fight again (which I do because I was pretty decent). But the problem is, like I say, I'm three stone over at the moment - so I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice to lose my belly and slight "man boobs?"
Also, would like to look ripped, but without using too much free weights, as my speed is my best assist.
I am not short of dedication, so whatever you people suggest, I will do, no matter what. But if you have any diet suggestions, exercise suggestion and things that will help me lose weight then please feel free to suggest anything.
Thanks.

Don't mean to be rude but if you really are an amateur light heavyweight, you will know the limit in the amateurs is 81 kg (ie about 178.5 pounds though everyone talks in kilos.)Dioufy wrote:I am slightly copying the "what weight will i get to?" thread made by billy bessey here.

Also if you're based in the UK you are unlikely to box in July as the season is over (unless you box internationally.)
Which club do you box for?

I was born in England but I live in New Zealand. I box with the Palmerston North Boxing Club, and I broke my hand a year ago - hence the weight gain, so I need to lose it for a practice bout, but I need to weight 175lbs to be able to fight in it, our gym rules.
PS - I'm in England for Xmas so I have no-one to turn to for advice apart from you guy's.

Sounds to me like you are. There is no silver bullet just bloody hard work in the gym on the road and in the kitchen.Dioufy wrote:

http://www.rossboxing.com/ has done wonders for my strength and conditioning, I definately reccomend his never gymless book, very informative and challenging.
Been a very long time since I boxed, but something that might help anyway - never eat within two, three hours of going to sleep - indeed, the earlier in the day you can take on proteins the better as the body then has time to digest and make use of them at its higher daytime metabolic rate.
Second point - and this I learned the hard way - don't worry about "looking buff". Boxing is a sport, not a posing contest - get into the condition that best suits your strategy.

Yeah thanks, but you're wrong about dedication - I just need suggestions.(craig) wrote:Sounds to me like you are. There is no silver bullet just bloody hard work in the gym on the road and in the kitchen.Dioufy wrote:

Come on mate you really need suggestions? You broke your hand, that is bad luck definately but not an excuse. Maybe i just take my conditioning too seriously!Dioufy wrote:Yeah thanks, but you're wrong about dedication - I just need suggestions.(craig) wrote:Sounds to me like you are. Yeah I do need suggestions while I'm away, thanks. I have boxed before but I have never had to lose weight like I have now, and being halfway around the globe with no regular gym or regular trainer it's a bit difficult, as I want to do it right. I just want to make doubly sure that when I lose weight I won't lose some of my better attributes, or lose weight too fast and look a bit gaunt.
Jeez, I only asked for advice, not for you to suck me off whilst wearing a Santa Clause uniform.
