That is sad news about the lad from the North East - Judging by the age he is you wouldnt expect his Mother to be very old - He took his fight loss to Molitor quite badly and he has lacked confidence ever since, so I understand - Presumably his lack of activity has been due to his Mother being ill - Bad couple of years for Michael, lets hope 2008 is better for him on a personal level and it would be great to see him get the gloves back on again - He always gave full VFM in his fights and seems a nice kid, I wish him well.
Sad news for Michael. I hope he returns to the ring at some stage in 2008. I'd be interested in watching Hunter vs Paul Appleby IF Appleby can get by Martin Lindsay in an interesting eliminator and then dethrone British featherweight champion John Simpson. It's a makeable fight.
Alternatively, I think Hunter needs to reconsider whether he can still make super-bantam. Fights against the winner of Pickering-Hughes-Munroe lie in wait and fights against Kiko Martinez or Bernard Dunne are still appealing.

He is back training and told me he wants to win more titles in respect to his mother's memory (she was his biggest fan and inspiration both in life and boxing). Could be out again in a few months but his future is 99.9% certainly at feather. A fight between him and Cook would be interesting as Michael knocked Nicky out in a round in the amateurs back in the day.
